Bill Stoops

Mr. Bill Stoops is a Chair of Investment Advisory Committee at Dragon Capital Management Co. Ltd.
and a Chief Investment Officer at Dragon Capital Management (HK) Ltd.
He joined Dragon Capital in 2006 with responsibility for research and public markets.
He was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2009.
In 1980, he moved to Hong Kong and worked as a journalist and political risk consultant before joining Schroder Securities in 1983 as an analyst on conglomerates.
In 1985 Bill joined Citicorp in Seoul, opening Korea’s first brokerage rep office.
In 1989, he joined Baring Securities in London to run its North Asian equity sales team, moving to New York in 1993 to establish a ‘New Emerging Markets’ sales desk.
He then worked for Deutsche Bank and later HSBC, specializing in ‘Emerging Europe.’ He graduated from Brown University in 1978 with a degree in history.
