BioXpr is a spin-off company from the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix, Namur (Belgium), created in 2003. Bioinformatics merges two of the most challenging sciences of today: computer science and biotechnology. Bioinformatics allows classification, interpretation, mining of tremendous amount of data stored in genomic and proteomic databases and offers prediction leading to the rational design of experiments yesterday limited by blind or extensive trials. Biotechnology allows easier and cheaper validation, detection, clonage, screening, protein engineering, and site directed mutagenesis. With over a decade of expertise in bioinformatics within the Molecular Biology Research Unit in Namur, BioXpr 1s aim is to develop products and services for protein structure prediction and DNA sequence analysis in the bioinformatics domain, together with experimental validation.
