Ara Katz

In addition to her role with FCP, Ms. Katz is Head of Development and Production with Artfire.
Prior to Artfire, she founded Arrival Cinema, an independent production company, where she produced and executive produced numerous successful projects, most notable of which is Paris, je t'aime, which opened at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and was released by First Look.
The film broke ground in having the largest-ever stellar collection of directors and actors including the Coen Brothers, Gus Van Sant, Wes Craven, Alexander Payne, Walter Salles and Alfonso Cuaron, and a cast including Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Elijah Wood, Emily Mortimer, Willem Dafoe, Steve Buscemi, Juliette Binoche, Nick Nolte, Gerard Depardieu, Bob Hoskins and Gena Rowlands to name a few.
Her first feature, Sexual Dependency, sold worldwide and received critical acclaim, including a Bolivian Oscar nomination in 2003.
She has spoken on numerous film panels and her films have premiered at some of the most prestigious festivals around the world.
She is currently developing a slate of properties, some of which include Wayne Wang's (The Joy Luck Club) passion project, A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers; the adaptation of Tom Robbins bestseller, Still Life with Woodpecker; Peter Webber's (Girl with a Pearl Earring) adaptation of the Brazilian film, Man of the Year; Saga, Artfire's first graphic novel and The Secret Empire of the Invisible Billionaire, the story of reclusive billionaire, Daniel K.

Ms. Katz graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and attended Horace Mann in NY.
