Amit Roy

Mr. Amit Roy is a Managing Director at Augment Ventures.
He will spend a portion of his time evaluating investment opportunities and portfolio management.
He has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, project finance and investment banking.
Over the last decade, while working at a large European Bank, his focus has been energy and natural resources projects in the Americas.
During this period, having reviewed close to 100 projects, he worked closely with several development stage entrepreneurs and start-up ventures particularly in the mid-stream energy infrastructure space.
He advised entrepreneurs on transactions structuring elements to facilitate successful project development and capital raise.
In addition to assisting clients in structuring and raising and/or providing senior debt, he has lead transaction from an initial development stage until the debt is fully repaid or exit via asset sale.
He played an active role in consistently meeting/ exceeding a targeted return on equity threshold set by the Bank.
His experience includes over 60 projects with total capital investment exceeding $50bn.
Prior to joining Augment in August 2012, Mr. Roy worked with ICICI Bank in Mumbai, India where he was in the Infrastructure Industry Group and involved in energy and infrastructure project advisory and finance.
At that time at the crossroads of growth in India, ICICI Bank provided several opportunities to him to play a key role in private sector participation in infrastructure, besides playing the usual lending role.
In addition he has worked at Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest software firm as a management consultant and briefly at Tata Steel.
Mr. Roy received his Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Lucknow India.
