Companhia Melhoramentos de Sao Paulo is a Brazil-based holding company. The Company divides its business into four main segments: Editorial Market, High Performance Fibers, Management of Planted Forests and Heritage. In the Editorial Market area, the Company publishes and sells books. In the High Performance Fibers, the Company is involved in the manufacture and marketing of cellulose fiber from pine and eucalyptus. In the Management of Planted Forests sector, it is engaged in the operation of pine and eucalyptus plantations. In the Heritage segment, the Company is active in the urbanization of its properties in the Brazilian municipalities of Sao Paulo and Caieiras. As of December 31, 2011, the Company had four subsidiaries: Melpaper Ltda, Melhoramentos Florestal Ltda, Editora Melhoramentos Ltda and Melhoramentos de Sao Paulo Arbor Ltda.
