Profile
Mr. Serge Pavoncello is a Chief Executive Officer at Wedge Associates SA. He founded the bank in 2004.
He is a member of the board of the Swiss Association of Asset Managers (SAAM).
Mr. Pavoncello started his career in 1987 at UBS SA, in asset management, a field in which he soon stood out.
As a young director with the bank, he was directly involved in setting up the portfolio management centers for the UBS group (in Geneva, Zurich, Basle, and Lugano) and sat on the investment committee for Private Clients.
Outside the bank, in 1995 he became a member of the board of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association (SFAA) and played an active part in the development of AZEK (a post-graduate training institute in finance created by the SFAA in 1992).
In 1999, he became the director of Credit Suisse’s onshore Private Banking Unit in Geneva.
Three years later, he was placed in charge of creating and running the Ultra High Net Worth Individuals Unit.
In that context, he worked with a wide range of clients, from elite athletes to entrepreneurs.
He also organized a specific lecture series for Credit Suisse SA clients in various fields.
It was at that point that he started bringing together the corporate and Private Banking worlds, as he had gained the conviction early on that the future of wealth management lay in offering customers a global approach.
His extensive experience in the world of finance and his network of private and professional contacts allows him to run a cutting-edge independent business that is focused on each client’s individual needs and hence oriented towards an individualized service for clients, whether companies or individuals.
Mr. Pavoncello earned a degree in economics from the University of Geneva.
He attended the Swiss Banking School and earned two post-graduate degrees in finance and an Executive MBA from Darden University, in Virginia (USA).
He also participated in the in-house training of UBS managers, as a senior lecturer.
