Dr. Salvatore ‘Sal’ Stolfo is a tenured professor of Computer Science at Columbia University, who has founded and serves as the CTO of Allure Security Technology.
As professor of Artificial Intelligence, Sal has spent his career figuring out how people think and how to make computers and systems think like people.
Early in his career he realized that the best technology adapts to how humans work, not the other way around.
Salvatore has been granted over 89 patents and has published over 230 papers, many awarded best paper awards, and books in the areas of parallel computing, AI, ML, computer security, and intrusion detection systems.
He has been an active advisor to government through the National Academy and is a member of the DNI STEP group.
His research has been supported by numerous government agencies, including DARPA, NSF, ONR, NSA, IARPA, AFOSR, ARO, NIST, and DHS.
Salvatore was recently elevated to IEEE Fellow for his contributions to machine learning-based computer security, a field of research he started in 1996.
Sal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Brooklyn College and received his Ph.D.
from NYU Courant Institute.
