John A. Massad, CFA, is a Managing Director of Vivo Capital.
Since 1999, Mr. Massad has held senior capital-raising roles at leading alternative investment managers, working closely with public and corporate pensions, endowments and foundations, insurance companies, investment consultants, private banks, RIA’s and family offices.
Most recently, Mr. Massad held leadership roles at Manor Private Capital, a PE placement agent, and at Proem Advisors, an emerging tech-focused hedge fund.
Prior to Proem, Mr. Massad was Managing Director and Global Head of Business Development at Highbridge Capital Management since 2014.
Prior to Highbridge, Mr. Massad held the position of Director at KKR Asset Management from 2011 to 2014 and prior to that, he was the Director of Business Development at Caxton Associates.
Before joining Caxton, Mr. Massad was a Managing Director at BlackRock from 2001 to 2009 and served in a senior capital-raising role at J.P.
Morgan Asset Management.
Mr. Massad began his career as an investment banker at J.P.Morgan.
Mr. Massad earned a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Cornell University.
Mr. Massad is also a CFA Charterholder.
