Mr. Conn is an accomplished software engineer, technologist, instructor, executive, and entrepreneur.
Over his twenty year career, he has participated in every aspect of the software business; from initial concept exploration, design, and implementation to team building, business development, market analysis, and developing international sales strategies and pricing models.
Mr. Conn joined Solipsys Corporation (a startup government contractor) at its inception in March 1996 and became a principal of the company prior to its sale to Raytheon Company.
During his career at Solipsys, he held various positions including Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Engineering and was instrumental in the design, development, and marketing of complex client-server software products (TDF, iTAC, MSCT) sold worldwide.
Mr. Conn was also technical lead and program manager for the NORAD Contingency Suite (NCS) air defense system deployed throughout the U.S.
immediately after 9/11 to protect the nation against potential terrorist threats.
Prior to Solipsys Corporation, Mr. Conn was a lead engineer and section supervisor at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he led or contributed to various large-scale design and development efforts focused on data fusion, correlation and tracking, real-time 2D/3D visualization, multi-hypothesis reasoning, and Command and Control.
These programs include the Common Display Kernel (CDK), the AEGIS Display System (ADS), the Advanced Automatic Correlator/Tracker (AACT), and the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Mr. Conn graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a B.S.
in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics in 1985.
He was awarded an M.S.
in Computer Science with honors from the Johns Hopkins University in 1989.
