French media group Vivendi reported a 39.3% rise in first-half adjusted operating income (EBITA) to 619 million euros, thanks in particular to the consolidation of Lagardère and a rise in Havas.

"Our different businesses have demonstrated their dynamism, both in terms of organic and external growth, the strength of their respective business models and their ability to transform and adapt to their environment and their customers' expectations," said Arnaud de Puyfontaine, Chairman of the Management Board, in a statement.

The group, which is considering listing Canal+ in London and Havas in Amsterdam as part of its planned demerger, said it looked forward to the rest of the year with confidence.
