Synectics plc announced that Ocular Integration ("Ocular"), its systems integration business, has been awarded a contract worth approximately £1.1 million (the "Contract") with Stagecoach. Under the terms of the Contract, Stagecoach will pilot Ocular's new On-Board Hub solution, an innovative, single-platform solution, designed to enhance fleet efficiency while improving both operator oversight and the passenger experience. The pilot is expected to be completed within twelve months, with the expectation that it is deployed more widely upon successful completion.
The On-Board Hub is a new system that has been developed in collaboration with Navaho Technologies Limited. The On-Board Hub leverages Synectics' cloud services and software, providing a secure, scalable environment capable of running multiple third-party applications simultaneously and integrates functionality, including automatic vehicle location, CCTV feeds, safety sensors and real-time passenger information. This new system simplifies the deployment of on-board surveillance technology, which will, in turn, streamline operations, creating an integrated platform improving the operator and passenger experience.
