According to a joint memo, the partnership aims to develop lithium-sulfur Ev batteries "with revolutionary gravimetric energy density, capable of achieving volumetric energy density comparable to current lithium-ion technology."
The goal of the collaboration is to develop a lighter battery pack with the same usable energy, longer range, better handling and improved performance, the release explains.
The technology has the potential to improve rapid charging speeds by up to 50 percent, making the purchase of electric vehicles even more affordable, the note points out.
