Stellantis said it strengthened its leadership position in hybrid car sales and commercial vehicles in the EU30 markets in May.

The automaker said Friday that its market share of hybrid car sales increased 4.9 percentage points to 16%, with the Peugeot brand consistently growing in this segment, up by 3.8 percentage points.

"We are actually reaping the benefits of the strategic decision made in the second half of 2024, when we widened our line-up of hybrid vehicles to meet the demands directly expressed by the market," Commercial Operations Officer Luca Napolitano said.

The performance is similar for commercial vehicles, with the automaker confirming its market leadership with a share of 29.9%, up by 3.1 percentage points, it said.

Order intake rose 8% compared to May 2024, it added.

For May and year-to-date, Stellantis remains in second place for total sales in the EU30 market, while maintaining its leadership in the markets of France, Italy and Portugal, it said.
