(Alliance News) - Stellantis may be targeting an experienced profile to lead the group after Carlos Tavares' farewell, as Il Corriere della Sera writes Friday.
Among the candidates is Mike Manley, former CEO of Fiat Chrysler and promoter of the relaunch of Jeep.
As Il Corriere continues, his experience in the U.S. market, which is crucial to Stellantis, would make him well-suited to face challenges in the U.S., especially in light of Trump's protectionist policies.
Manley, now CEO of AutoNation, is not the only name in the running: among the alternatives are Maxime Picat, former head of Peugeot, and Richard Palmer, the group's former CFO, who could manage a transition, the newspaper says.
Meanwhile, Stellantis has reorganized its structure in Italy, putting Antonella Bruno in charge. Her team will have to implement the plan, which calls for EUR2 billion in investments and EUR7 billion in purchases in the supply chain.
Premier Giorgia Meloni expressed satisfaction with the agreement with Stellantis, highlighting the importance of protecting workers.
