WASHINGTON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has 16 open enforcement actions involving planemaker Boeing, with eight of them launched since the Jan. 5 Alaska Airlines MAX 9 mid-air emergency in January.

FAA official Brian Knaup said at a hearing the other 8 involve actions since 2020. The FAA typically has four to six enforcement cases involving Boeing per year. (Reporting by David Shepardson; Editing by Sandra Maler)
