(Alliance News) - Sound Energy PLC on Friday said work over operations have begun in preparation for the commencement of gas extraction at wells TE-6 and TE-7 in the Tendrara concession.

The Moroccan-focused upstream energy company began preparatory work in December with the installation of production packers with a wireline unit at both sites.

Sound Energy will now replace existing tubing with new corrosion resistant tubing using the Star Valley Rig 101, which is due to arrive at the beginning of June.

Furthermore, the two Christmas tree assemblies are scheduled to be swapped with corrosion resistant replacements.

This latest development advances plans to begin production at the liquefied natural gas plant, currently under construction, at the end of the year.

Sound Energy shares were up 11% to 1.04 pence each in London on Friday morning.
