A total of 126,036 passenger cars were registered in France last month, the PFA reported. July counted 23 working days this year, compared with 20 last year.
Over the first seven months of the year, the market recorded an increase of 2.18% year-on-year, with 1,040,923 registrations.
New car registrations for the Stellantis Group, which includes the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, rose last month by 2.58% year-on-year.
The Renault group (Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands), meanwhile, saw its registrations in France fall by 7.86% year-on-year in July.
