On Monday, Nvidia unveiled a new set of microservices enabling physically accurate sensor simulation to accelerate the development of fully autonomous machines.

The American chipmaker presented this solution, dubbed 'Nvidia Omniverse Cloud Sensor RTX', as a prelude to the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) conference, which opens today in Seattle.

The Californian group stresses that the presentations scheduled for the show are intended to pave the way in the fast-evolving field of visual generative AI, developing new techniques for creating and interpreting images, videos and 3D environments.

From Nvidia's point of view, these announcements illustrate its commitment to using generative AI as a new strategy for creating applications for use cases in physical AI deployments.

Beyond the development of autonomous vehicles, these solutions are aimed at the industrial, healthcare and robotics sectors in particular, the company explains.
