The boom in demand for wind power is ensuring full order books and rising selling prices for turbine manufacturer Nordex.

In the fourth quarter alone, the company received orders for 547 wind turbines with a total volume of 3253 megawatts, an increase of 32 percent over the same quarter last year, the company announced on Wednesday. The average selling price per megawatt of output (ASP) improved to 0.89 million euros compared to 0.84 million in 2023.

"Numerous orders from our core markets in Europe as well as significant orders from North America have contributed to a very solid backlog at stable prices until the end of the year," said CEO José Luis Blanco. "Nordex is well positioned for the future and I expect that, given a stable macroeconomic environment, we will continue to see strong demand for our products in 2025."

The news caused the stock market to jump by over five percent at times. Later, the shares, which are traded on the MDax, were still up 1.6 percent at 12.06 euros.
