Lloyds Banking Group plc (LSE:LLOY) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to £2,000 million worth of its shares. The purpose of the program is to reduce the share capital of the company.

All the repurchased shares will be cancelled. The program will end no later than December 31, 2024.

Lloyds Banking Group plc is one of the leading British banking groups. Net income breaks down by activity as follows: - retail banking (58.4%): sales of standard banking products and services to individuals. The group is also involved in real estate lending with Cheltenham & Gloucester; - commercial banking (30.7%); - insurance and wealth management (6.7%): life insurance (Scottish Widows) and non-life insurance (Britain's No. 1 homeowner's insurance distributor); - other (4.2%). At the end of 2024, the group managed GBP 482.7 billion in current deposits and GBP 459.9 billion in current loans.
