FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – Logistics giant DHL Group has reaffirmed its commitment to its German mail and parcel business, dismissing investor calls for a spin-off. Chief Financial Officer Melanie Kreis rejected such demands in an interview with "Börsen-Zeitung" (Friday): "Our management team has repeatedly made it clear that the Post & Parcel Germany division is and will remain an important part of the family," she said. Investment firms DWS and Deka had previously urged DHL management to consider separating the division.

The division has been losing significance within the group for many years, as fewer letters, postcards, and advertising mail are being sent. However, Kreis expects a return to growth toward the end of the decade: "At that point, we will see this division begin to grow again, as letter volumes will have stabilized and parcel growth will take the lead."
