This partnership provides for the establishment of a final assembly line in Nagpur, in the western state of Maharashtra. This will be the first Falcon 2000 production line outside France, marking a significant step in the internationalization of Dassault's industrial activities.
The French company aims to deliver the first aircraft assembled in India by 2028. These aircraft will be used for both civil and military purposes.
The Indian site will also become the first center of excellence dedicated to Falcon aircraft outside France, eventually including activities on the Falcon 6X and 8X programs.
Make in India
The Nagpur site, which has been operational since 2017, has produced more than 100 sub-assemblies for the Falcon 2000 since 2019. This development will be accompanied by the recruitment of several hundred engineers and technicians over the next decade at Reliance Infrastructure.
Earlier this month, Dassault announced an agreement with Tata to manufacture the fuselage of the Rafale in India. The Indian Air Force currently operates 36 Rafale fighter jets. India also signed an agreement in April with France, its second largest arms supplier, to purchase 26 naval versions of these aircraft for $7bn. They are expected to be delivered by 2030.
