BMW to Propose New Head of Supervisory Board

BMW said it would propose Nicolas Peter to succeed Norbert Reithofer as chairman of the supervisory board next year.

The German premium-car maker said it would make the proposal to shareholders at its 2025 annual general meeting for Peter to take over since Reithofer's mandate is due to expire after the event.

Reithofer won't run for re-election after two terms of office, the company said.

Peter was a member of BMW's management board, responsible for finance, from January 2017 to May 2023. He has also held several management positions in finance and sales at the company.

Norbert Reithofer is Chairman-Supervisory Board of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG. Dr. Reithofer is also on the board of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, Siemens AG and Henkel Management AG. Dr. Reithofer previously held the position of President for BMW Manufacturing Corp. and Technical Director for BMW South Africa Pty Ltd. He received an undergraduate degree from Hochschule München and a doctorate from Technische Universität München.
