BAE Systems announces that the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has selected the company to continue development and support deployment of the Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Operations Kit (BATDOK®) through the new FORGE-IT (Force Optimization through Rapid-prototyping, Gear Enhancements & Innovative Technology) program.
This collaboration aims to improve care for wounded soldiers in the field and ensure their transition to long-term treatment.
BATDOK, designed by the AFRL with support from BAE Systems, creates a comprehensive electronic record of injuries and care administered at the point of impact, replacing traditional paper documentation.
FORGE-IT will enhance these capabilities by developing remote patient monitoring and introducing clinical decision support through integrated artificial intelligence.
Nathaniel Wiesner, vice president and general manager of Ground Systems & Services at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems, said the projects aim to "increase our soldiers' ability to provide critical care in high-risk areas."
