(Alliance News) - The Mib is registering a 0.8% gain--surpassing the 40,300-point mark--and posting a solid monthly increase of over 6% and a weekly rise of more than 1%, following a week marked by high volatility.
Market attention remains focused on the ongoing legal dispute regarding the so-called "Liberation Day" tariffs promoted by President Donald Trump, following a federal appeals court decision that granted Trump a temporary stay on a ruling threatening to overturn much of his trade agenda.
At Piazza Affari, 20% of stocks are bullish, 9% are bearish, 3% are unchanged, while 68% have yet to be traded. The total turnover has exceeded EUR760 million.
The FTSE Mib is thus advancing by 0.8% to 40,309.15 points, with a put/call volume ratio of 0.32.
London's FTSE 100 is up 0.4%, Paris's CAC 40 is down 0.1%, while Frankfurt's DAX 40 is up 0.4%.
Among the secondary indices, the Mid-Cap is up 0.4% at 54,705.13, the Small-Cap is up 0.8% at 32,006.84, while Italy Growth is reporting a positive 0.2% at 8,099.79 points.
On the Mib, Campari is seeing strong buying, rising 1.9% to EUR5.78 per share after closing 0.4% lower the previous day. Notably, on Thursday, Arrowstreet Capital raised its short position on the stock to 0.60% from 0.50%.
A2A is also up 1.8% after a 0.6% drop on Thursday. This week, Moody's improved its outlook to Positive from Stable, confirming A2A's long-term rating at 'Baa2'.
Amplifon is also showing strength, up 1.7%. Kintbury Capital trimmed its short position on the stock to 0.57% from 0.61%.
Snam--up 0.7%--announced the successful completion of an accelerated bookbuilding of 83.3 million option rights reserved as part of Italgas's capital increase, with Italgas currently advancing 1.6%. The rights were sold at EUR0.396 each, for a total value of EUR32.5 million and a 1.9% discount to their theoretical value.
Assicurazioni Generali--up 0.1%--announced Thursday its return to the Insurance-Linked Securities market, sponsoring through Lion Re DAC the issuance of a EUR200 million catastrophe bond split into two classes. The bonds will cover European storm events and Italian earthquakes for a period of four years.
On the Mid-Cap segment, ERG leads the index with a 3.5% gain, marking its fourth consecutive bullish session.
The Italian Sea Group is up 2.9% after two bearish sessions, trading around EUR5.74 per share.
Alerion, also among the top performers, is up 2.7%, ending a four-session bearish streak.
Among the decliners, SOL is down 0.8%, bringing its price to EUR44.85. Since the start of 2025, the stock's market cap has increased by about 22%.
Lottomatica closes out the index, falling 1.5% in its third consecutive bearish session.
On the Small-Cap, Softlab is up 6.1% at EUR1.21, marking its third consecutive bullish session.
Aeffe is also strong, up 3.4% at EUR0.54 per share, rebounding after three bearish sessions.
Safilo Group--up 1.9%--announced Thursday the early renewal of its supply agreement with Kering Eyewear, extending the expiration to 2029.
Zucchi is up 1.3%, rebounding after three bearish sessions.
Valsoia--untraded, last priced at EUR11.00--announced Thursday the launch of its already-approved buyback program. Under this initiative, which will provide shares for stock option plans, the company may purchase up to 200,000 ordinary shares, for a maximum of EUR2.5 million.
Among the negatives, Aedes is down 0.6% after gaining 1.1% in the previous session.
Borgosesia is down 0.7%, ending three consecutive bullish sessions.
Among SMEs, Cloudia Research is up 9.0% after a 3.3% gain in the previous session.
ATON Green Storage is up 5.4%, bringing its monthly gain to 30%.
H-Farm--down 3.9%--reported a widened net loss for the first half, reaching EUR5.2 million from EUR4.2 million year-on-year. Production value rose to EUR20.9 million from EUR19.1 million, while operating costs increased to EUR23.1 million from EUR21.1 million.
Valica--untraded, last priced at EUR4.46--announced Thursday it had amended the payment terms for the acquisition of Parallelozero Srl. Initially planned as a mix of cash and shares, the EUR255,000 consideration will now be paid entirely in cash to Parallelozero's former shareholders.
In Asia, the Nikkei closed down 1.2%, the Shanghai Composite slipped 0.5%, while the Hang Seng ended 1.2% lower.
Last night in New York, the Dow closed up 0.3% at 42,215.73, the Nasdaq rose 0.4% to 19,175.87, and the S&P 500 gained 0.4% to 5,912.17.
In currencies, the euro is trading at USD1.1325 from USD1.1366 on Thursday evening, while the pound is at USD1.3470 from USD1.3487 the previous evening.
Among commodities, Brent is trading at USD63.69 a barrel from USD63.38 on Thursday evening, while gold is valued at USD3,297.04 an ounce from USD3,342.61 an ounce the previous evening.
Friday's macroeconomic calendar features, from the US at 1430 CEST, the release of data on the goods trade balance, personal consumption expenditures price index, annual PCE, personal income, and retail inventories excluding autos.
