The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Tuesday,
and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.3771 to the
greenback, or 72.62 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of
1.3756 to 1.3784.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 1.1
basis points to 3.495%. The yield on similar U.S. government
benchmark debt fell to 4.4453%.
U.S. July crude futures rose 12 cents to $77.86 a barrel
on Tuesday.
The value of building permits in Canada rose 20.5% in April,
Statistics Canada said.
