The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0.1% higher at C$1.3695 to the greenback, or 73.02 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3693 to 1.3734. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 3.5 basis points to 3.725%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.5699%. U.S. July crude futures fell 39 cents to $78.84 a barrel on Thursday.
