FRANKFURT/MADRID (dpa-AFX) - Propelled by robust results from Inditex, Zalando shares made a fresh attempt at a technical breakout on Wednesday. Trading at 24.31 euros, the fashion retailer's stock reached its highest level since February. Inditex's quarterly figures received widespread praise this morning. Growth both at the start of the year and since early May has exceeded expectations, noted UBS analyst Sreedhar Mahamkali.

Since hitting their year-to-date low in mid-May, Zalando shares have recovered by nearly 31 percent. A successful technical breakout would once again fuel hopes of a definitive bottoming out. The stock has been mired in a downtrend since February 2025. Looking at the broader picture, shares have been struggling to signal a trend reversal for some time following the price collapses of 2021 and 2022.

Zalando will remain in the spotlight this evening as ISS Stoxx, a subsidiary of Deutsche Boerse, reviews the future composition of the Dax. Zalando is currently considered a candidate for demotion./ag/jha/
