Finnish engineering giant Wärtsilä is set to perform a fuel conversion on an engine-based power plant in Jordan that supplies the Qatrana Cement factory in Karak, according to a press release.

The upgrade will enable the facility to operate on natural gas, a move expected to reduce both emissions and operating costs through lower fuel and lubricating oil consumption.

The order was booked during the first quarter.
