As a reminder, on June 3, the General Court of the European Union ruled that the illegality of a request for information from the European Commission had not been established and, consequently, rejected Vivendi's appeal.

'This ruling does not impose any sanction on Vivendi and does not prejudice the outcome of the formal investigation initiated in 2023 by the European Commission regarding the acquisition of control of the Lagardère group', the entertainment conglomerate specified.

Vivendi will appeal this judgment before the CJEU, noting in this regard that on April 11, 2024, the same court had ruled in its favor against the EU General Court and the European Commission.

'In any event, Vivendi intends to assert its rights and take all necessary steps to ensure it is definitively cleared in the proceedings initiated by the European Commission', the company stated.
