April 8 (Reuters) - British precision engineering firm Renishaw said on Wednesday that it has appointed John Shipsey as its new chief financial officer and David Grant as permanent chairman.
Shipsey, who previously served as CFO of technology company Dyson and engineering firm Smiths Group, and held various senior finance and strategy roles at Diageo, will take up the role of Renishaw CFO from April 13.

Dr. Grant also formerly worked at Innovate UK, as Chief Executive Officer in 2015, National Physical Laboratory Ltd., as Chairman from 2015 to 2021, The Science, Engineering, Technology & Mathematics Network, as Chairman from 2011 to 2018, IQE Plc, as Senior Independent Director in 2012, Dowty Group Plc, as Group Technical Director, Gec Plc, as Group Technical Director, The Defence Science & Technology Laboratory, as Non-Executive Director from 2012 to 2018, Institution of Electrical Engineers, as Vice President, The Institution of Engineering & Technology, as Vice President, Royal Academy of Engineering, as Vice President from 2007 to 2012, and the University of Cardiff, as Vice Chancellor from 2001 to 2012.
Dr. Grant received his doctorate degree in 1974 from the University of Durham.
