BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - Highlights of all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico will be available on numerous portals shortly after the final whistle, many of them free of charge. Deutsche Telekom, the World Cup rights holder for Germany, has concluded several sub-licensing agreements to this end. According to the announcement, MagentaTV content will be featured on the digital platforms of Bild, Welt, RTL, DAZN, Sky, Kicker, Sport1, and t-online.

Telekom acquired the full World Cup rights from the world governing body FIFA and sub-licensed a major package to ARD and ZDF several months ago. As a result, the two public broadcasters also hold comprehensive highlight and secondary exploitation rights for all matches across their digital platforms, including media libraries and websites such as 'sportschau.de'.

The additional sub-licenses now sold to various media houses and broadcasters include highlights of the 104 World Cup matches, over 300 key scenes shortly after the final whistle, as well as original MagentaTV content from studio operations, interviews, and expert analysis. A proven production and distribution process ensures that all media partners receive the content promptly and in optimal quality.

Telekom is the sole provider showing all 104 tournament matches live via its MagentaTV channel. 44 of these will be available exclusively on the pay-TV service. 60 matches, including those of the German national team, will be broadcast at no additional cost on ARD and ZDF./mrs/DP/stw
