The Stockholm stock exchange opened on a positive note Wednesday following a morning packed with reports and news. Volvo Cars reported a decline in sales for the November to January period, while among the batch of earnings releases, Handelsbanken stood out with stronger-than-expected results.

After about 35 minutes of trading, the OMXS30 index was up 0.43 percent at 3,100.77. Throughout the day, the index has fluctuated between a low of 0.05 percent and a high of 0.61 percent.

The broader OMXSPI was up 0.20 percent.
