The SEB Sweden Equity Fund C SEK rose 3.7 percent in October, which was worse than the fund's benchmark index, which rose 4.1 percent. Since the beginning of the year, the fund has returned 8.3 percent, which is worse than the index, which has increased 10.1 percent. This is according to a monthly report written by fund manager Caroline Forsberg.

The manager notes that most major markets continued to rise during the month. In the Swedish market, large and small companies performed equally strongly, rising by around 4.1 percent.

"During the period, tensions between the US and China intensified, but these eased towards the end of the month after a preliminary agreement was reached. At the same time, the US Federal Reserve lowered its key interest rate by a further 25 basis points."

Furthermore, investors faced an intense reporting period, which in many cases led to significant price movements. On the corporate front, security company Verisure was listed at a valuation of just over SEK 150 billion, which according to Forsberg was the largest Swedish IPO in many years.

In terms of the fund's performance in October, it benefited from the engineering and communications services sectors. Conversely, performance was negatively affected by the technology and healthcare sectors.

"The holdings that contributed most positively to the fund's performance relative to the benchmark index were Lagercrantz, Addlife, Astra Zeneca, and Indutrade, while the holdings in Novo Nordisk, Bravida, Volvo, and Swedbank had the most negative impact on performance relative to the benchmark index," comments the fund manager.

During the month, new investments were made in Verisure in connection with its IPO, and holdings in EQT, Noba Bank, and Alfa Laval were increased. Conversely, holdings in Novo Nordisk, Hexagon, Sandvik, and Afry were reduced.

At the end of the month, the fund's largest holdings were Investor, Swedbank, and Volvo, with weights of 10.1, 7.7, and 5.9 percent, respectively.

At the end of the month, the fund had the greatest exposure to the industrial, financial and healthcare sectors.
