DORTMUND (dpa-AFX) - From Nico Schlotterbeck's perspective, striker Serhou Guirassy's scoring drought ended with his goal against Werder Bremen. "He finally got his goal. I really believe the floodgates have opened," the German international told DAZN. "Now we'll see the striker we know. You can tell that a weight has been lifted off his shoulders."

Guirassy, who had last scored in the Bundesliga on October 31 of the previous year, netted the third and final goal after coming on as a substitute against Werder. Even goalkeeper Gregor Kobel rushed forward to celebrate with him. Earlier, Schlotterbeck and Marcel Sabitzer had scored for BVB.

"When a lot of people are targeting you, it's not easy. He hasn't played badly lately," Schlotterbeck said. "We expect a lot; it's not easy being a striker." Coach Niko Kovac added: "It's important that he scored—not just for him personally, but for the whole team."/the/DP/zb
