Safran has announced, via Safran Corporate Ventures, an investment in Metavonics, a French start-up founded in 2021 and specializing in critical avionics technologies for safety, as part of a Series A fundraising round totaling 7.3 million euros, conducted alongside Austrian firm TTTech.

Metavonics is developing a modular approach based on standardized and certified electronic components, as well as software tools that facilitate the development, integration, and evolution of avionics functions throughout their entire lifecycle.

The operation is accompanied by the signing of a partnership agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense and is part of a strategy to support innovative technologies related to the safety of embedded systems.

"With this investment, Safran Corporate Ventures is supporting French innovation and the transformation of critical avionics. Metavonics' modular technology represents a real advance in the safety and performance of embedded systems," commented Florent Illat, CEO of Safran Corporate Ventures.

Safran shares fell by 4.4% in Paris.
