DÜSSELDORF (dpa-AFX) – Germany's largest defense contractor, Rheinmetall, will deliver five Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. The first vehicles are scheduled for delivery at the beginning of 2026, according to the company based in Düsseldorf. The contract for the five vehicles is valued in the mid double-digit million euro range. The systems will be financed by the Federal Republic of Germany. "The next step will be the procurement of further batches, including production in Ukraine," the statement said.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for nearly four years, receiving support in the form of weapons deliveries from Germany, other European nations, and the United States.
