Belgian telecom operator Proximus has chosen Nokia to modernize the company's online charging and voice core systems with cloud-based solutions, according to a press release.

The upgrade is expected to increase automation and enable new business models for Proximus.

The agreement involves migrating the entire customer base—both fixed and mobile customers—as well as over 1,000 products to Nokia's Converged Charging, which will replace an existing solution from a competitor.

Proximus will also implement Nokia's cloud-based solutions for voice core, subscriber data management, and policy solutions in order to improve network automation, scalability, and support the launch of new services linked to 5G.
