The Stockholm Stock Exchange is rising sharply at midday on Wednesday, driven by peace optimism regarding the Iran conflict. Global markets are also seeing significant gains while oil prices retreat. Meanwhile, the flow of interim reports continues unabated.

The White House assesses that the US and Iran are approaching a memorandum of understanding to end the war and create a framework for continued nuclear negotiations, sources familiar with the matter told Axios. The US expects Iranian responses on several key issues within 48 hours.

At around 12:50 PM, the OMXS30 index was up 2.79 percent at 3,158.07. Adjusted for dividends, the OMXS30 index rose 2.85 percent. Shares worth approximately SEK 10.6 billion were traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

Among the major industrial sectors, basic materials performed best with a 4.0 percent increase. At the other end of the spectrum, energy lagged at the bottom, falling 4.4 percent.

Among the leading shares included in the OMXS30 index, Boliden rose 7.6 percent while Atlas Copco A was up 5.7 percent. The weakest performance came from Nibe B, down 1.0 percent, while Telia declined 0.6 percent.

Medical technology company Asker Healthcare reported increased revenue and a clear improvement in earnings for the first quarter. The stock climbed 8.1 percent.

Security company Verisure reported increased revenue and earnings for the first quarter shortly before Tuesday's close. The stock managed to rise on Tuesday and continues its ascent today, up 10.7 percent.

Real estate company SBB increased its profit from property management to SEK 131 million. The stock rose 3.2 percent.

Ventilation company Lindab's operating profit came in lower than expected at SEK 188 million. Revenue was in line with expectations. The stock rose 1.7 percent.

Debt management company Hoist reported revenue that exceeded expectations in the first quarter. Profit before tax also beat estimates, coming in at SEK 394 million. Hoist surged 13 percent.

Game developer G5 Entertainment reported decreased revenue and a slightly lower operating profit for the first quarter of 2026. The company is also launching a cost-cutting program resulting in 180 layoffs. The stock sank 6.0 percent.

Confectionery manufacturer Cloetta increased its adjusted operating profit to SEK 273 million. Revenue also increased. The stock rose 6.7 percent.

Outdoor products company Thule has signed an agreement to acquire Swiss-based Curli, which operates in dog transportation. The initial purchase price amounts to CHF 10.1 million, equivalent to SEK 118 million, with a potential earn-out of a maximum of CHF 6.8 million. Thule climbed 8.1 percent.

Among the earnings winners, Profoto stood out with a 27 percent gain, while C-Rad increased 12.5 percent. Among the earnings losers, CTEK fell 5.0 percent.

Oil company IPC is a clear loser following the decline in oil prices. The stock retreated 5.7 percent.
