Norwegian reported a 4 percent year-on-year increase in passenger volume for April, carrying approximately 2.02 million travelers. This follows a 6 percent growth rate recorded in the previous month.

Traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), rose by 2 percent during the period (2).

Capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), expanded by 3 percent in April (-6).

The load factor stood at 82.6 percent for the month, compared to 87.7 percent a year earlier.

Norwegian operated a fleet of 89 aircraft during the month.

Including Widerøe, the Norwegian Group carried a total of 2.35 million passengers in April.

'We are pleased that over 2.3 million passengers chose to fly with Norwegian and Widerøe in April. We have ramped up capacity ahead of the summer season to meet demand across all markets. While the macroeconomic outlook remains uncertain, I am encouraged by the stable booking trends for the summer as more customers plan their holidays with us. We have no plans to cancel flights due to current high fuel prices,' said Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen.
