Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao said during a meeting in New York with Chinese company representatives that China and the U.S. "have reached consensus on a number of issues after several rounds of economic and trade consultation," according to a statement by the ministry late Wednesday. This will help to "stabilize economic and trade relations between the two countries," he said.

Sarkozy Convicted of Criminal Conspiracy in Gadhafi Funding Case

PARIS-A French court found former President Nicolas Sarkozy guilty of criminal conspiracy in a trial that examined whether his 2007 presidential campaign received millions of euros from the regime of Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi.

A panel of judges was expected to sentence Sarkozy later Thursday after reading out a lengthy verdict to a Paris courtroom where the 70-year-old former head of state sat with his wife, Carla Bruni, and his three sons.

China's Xi Takes Veiled Swipe at Trump, Announces Climate Plan

Chinese leader Xi Jinping took an indirect jab at President Trump and criticized countries that are turning away from the fight against global warming as he presented a new plan to cut greenhouse-gas emissions under the Paris accord.

"Green and low-carbon transition is the trend of our time," Xi said in a video message to the United Nations on Wednesday. "While some countries are acting against it, the international community should stay focused in the right direction."

RFK Jr.'s Team Wanted to Tout an Autism Therapy. He Went After Tylenol Instead.

WASHINGTON-Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s team had decided by the beginning of September to tell Americans that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, was a possible cause of autism. But officials were divided over how much emphasis to put on the painkiller and were planning to discuss it as one of many possible causes, people familiar with the matter said.

Doctors that Kennedy had selected to lead key agencies under him-Jay Bhattacharya, Mehmet Oz and Marty Makary-suggested the big story should be leucovorin, a little-known generic drug in which they saw promise for alleviating autism symptoms.
