Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro has signed a new long-term power agreement with Hafslund for the delivery of a total of 1.75 terawatt hours during the period 2036–2040. The agreement entails an annual delivery of 350 gigawatt hours in the Norwegian power region NO3.
The agreement aims to secure part of Hydro's future electricity needs and enable the continued development of aluminum production in Norway with a focus on low carbon emissions.
No financial details have been disclosed.
