Nippon Express announced aiming to avoid airport congestion with new Vietnamese CFS. Nippon Express has obtained a container freight station (CFS) license for its off-airport air cargo facility in Hanoi, Vietnam in a bid to make operations more efficient. The CFS license was obtained by Nippon Express Vietnam for its Quang Minh Logistics Center, which opened for business in April in the Quang Minh Industrial Park. To qualify for the license, the company had to demonstrate it was capable of performing the full spectrum of operations, from air cargo consolidation and packing to bonded transport procedures. The newly established CFS area within the logistics center is 1,000 sq m and equipped with high-rise racks, security cameras, and lockable secure areas. Air cargo loading and unloading, temporary storage of export-ready cargo, bonded transport procedures and other operations are carried out under in-house management in an effort to make cargo control more efficient and customers' logistic flows smoother. Nippon Express also stressed that because the facility is not located at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), it is able to avoid cargo backlogs at the congested airport cargo terminal and better meet demand for cargo handling in accordance with flight schedules. Centralizing air cargo consolidation and bonded transport procedures reduces waiting times at airport terminals and similar external facilities, said the company. Shorter lead times are achieved through reliable shipment schedule management, unaffected by congestion. Additionally, Nippon Express can aggregate and consolidate cargo at the CFS and transport it to the airport in bulk to streamline and optimize transport processes.
Furthermore, Nippon Express said air cargo safety and security has been enhanced as cargo handling has been improved, and the risk of loss or damage is reduced through in-house management, alongside strict security measures and advanced storage systems.
