NEXT Biometrics has announced the first large-scale production order for its new FAP 30 ?Granite? sensor. NEXT will supply the sensors to an existing Indian OEM customer. The customer has signed an initial purchase order valued at NOK 3.2 million and initial delivery of the order is scheduled for fourth quarter of 2025. The sensors will be integrated into readers deployed to support Government ID programs including biometric identity systems underpinning law enforcement efforts in Africa and Latin America.

With a 66% larger sensing area than FAP 20 sensors, the ?Granite? sensor offers increased accuracy, resolution and security. This makes the sensor ideal for high-end use cases including national identity projects, elections, border control, banking and healthcare.
