The Stockholm Stock Exchange opened lower on Wednesday as expected, pressured by new tariff rhetoric from the US.
The US Trade Representative is proposing new tariffs of up to 12.5 percent on imports from 60 economies, including China, the EU, and Japan.

Oil prices are rising by 2 percent today in the wake of new overnight attacks from both the US and Iran.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump claims, as usual, that a deal is just around the corner.

As of 09:17, the OMXS30 index was down 0.31 percent at 3,140.19. Shares worth approximately SEK 2.8 billion were traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

Among the major industrial sectors, energy saw the best performance with a 1.6 percent gain. At the other end of the scale, financials lagged at the bottom, down 0.8 percent.

Among the leading shares included in the OMXS30 index, H&M B rose 1.6 percent while Nibe B was up 0.9 percent. The weakest performers were EQT, down 4.1 percent, and Saab B, which fell 2.1 percent.

Home improvement chain Clas Ohlson reported an operating profit slightly below market expectations for the fourth quarter of its broken fiscal year 2025/26. The board proposes a total dividend of SEK 14 per share, compared to the Factset consensus of SEK 9.62 per share. Clas Ohlson raised its operating margin target to around 12 percent, up from 7-9 percent. The stock is retreating 8.5 percent.

Finnish pension insurance company Varma has sold its entire holding of approximately 40.6 million shares in real estate company Atrium Ljungberg. The price was set at SEK 27.35 per share, representing a discount of approximately 7 percent compared to Atrium's last closing price. The total transaction size amounts to approximately SEK 1.11 billion. The stock dropped 5.8 percent.

Carmaker Volvo Cars was down 2.8 percent. The company's global sales totaled 178,980 cars during the March-May period, a decrease of 5.5 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. However, sales improved compared to the immediately preceding three-month period.

Investment company Ratos has divested 9 million shares in construction company Sentia, corresponding to approximately 9 percent of the share capital and votes. The shares were sold to institutional investors at a price of NOK 72.40 per share on Euronext Oslo Børs. Gross proceeds from the transaction amount to approximately NOK 652 million. Following the sale, Ratos owns approximately 30.8 percent of the shares and votes in Sentia. Ratos' share price slipped 0.5 percent.

Climate control company Munters rose 1.4 percent. Munters has acquired British firm Optifarm, a provider of AI-based solutions for livestock monitoring. The acquisition is intended to strengthen the offering in operational intelligence under the Speria brand, part of the FoodTech business area.

Medical technology and cybersecurity company Sectra has received orders from Swedish authorities valued at approximately SEK 120 million regarding secure communications. The stock fell 0.1 percent.

On the analyst front, SB1 Markets has initiated coverage on Hexatronic with a neutral rating and a price target of SEK 47. The stock rose 0.5 percent.
