(Alliance News): On Monday, stock markets continued to trade in positive territory at midday, with sentiment bolstered by news of an agreement between Iran and the U.S. for a truce in the Middle East conflict and the subsequent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Consequently, the MIB rose 0.8% to 51,920, the Mid-Cap climbed 1.8% to 64,826.99, the Small-Cap gained 1.3% to 36,648.85, and Italy Growth edged up 0.3% to 9,136.29.

Other European markets also performed well: the CAC 40 rose 1.1%, the DAX 40 gained 1.3%, and the FTSE 100 was up 0.2%.

Earlier this morning, Eurostat reported that seasonally adjusted industrial production in April increased by 0.1% in both the Eurozone and the EU compared to March.

In March, industrial production had grown by 0.4% in the Eurozone and 0.8% in the EU.

On the trade front, the Eurozone recorded a deficit of €1.0bn, compared to a surplus of €4.9bn in March and a deficit of €8.7bn in April 2025. The figure fell short of market expectations, which had anticipated a surplus of €7.8bn.

Returning to Piazza Affari, Stellantis outperformed the blue-chip index, taking the top spot with a 5.0% gain. Ferrari also rose, up 4.1%, while Buzzi rounded out the top three with a 3.9% increase.

The UniCredit-Commerzbank saga remains a focal point. The Italian lender, up 1.5%, rejected accusations from its German counterpart, which claimed last Friday that the Italian group had provided misleading information to the market regarding its offer for the German bank.

Specifically, the bank emphasized that it has "always operated, and will continue to operate, in full compliance with regulations and with total transparency," and clarified that "claims regarding alleged securities lending activities on shares by UniCredit are unfounded."

"In no case has UniCredit aggregated or confused information categories that must be kept distinct under applicable regulations; such a representation has instead been repeatedly put forward by Commerzbank, apparently with the aim of generating a distortive narrative," UniCredit charged.

Among the decliners, the oil sector struggled, with Eni and Tenaris losing 4.1% and 1.7% respectively.

Fincantieri was in the red, down 0.4%. The company announced the purchase of 1m treasury shares at a price of €11.3579, for a total value of approximately €11.4m.

Following these transactions, carried out on June 11 and 12, the company holds 1.5m treasury shares, representing 0.4% of its share capital.

On the Mid-Cap index, Juventus Football Club, up 2.2%, announced the appointment of Giovanni Carnevali as the company's new CEO and General Manager.

The appointment follows the mutual termination of the employment relationship with Damien Comolli and his subsequent resignation earlier this morning.

Ferretti was the top performer, rising 6.8% to €3.23 per share. Caltagirone also gained, up 5.0%. Among the decliners, WIIT fell 2.4% and Rai Way dropped 1.8%.

On the Small-Cap index, Banca Sistema, down 0.5%, provided an update on the mandatory total public exchange and purchase offer promoted by Banca CF+. On Friday evening, the bank announced that the acceptance period had concluded, reaching 85.67% of the share capital. To date, over 3.9m shares of Banca Sistema have been tendered, representing approximately 26% of the shares subject to the offer and about 4.9% of Banca Sistema's share capital.

Landi Renzo fell 1.4%. The company announced it has signed an amendment to the agreement for its Indian joint venture, Krishna Landi Renzo India Private Limited, selling a 16% stake to local partner Shloka Auto Trimes and reducing its own holding to 35%.

Generalfinance, up 4.4%, announced that the Trento Court of Appeal fully upheld the company's appeal against ruling 569/2025 of the Trento Civil Court.

On July 25, 2025, Generalfinance had informed the market that the Trento Civil Court had issued a ruling declaring the credit assignments made under a factoring contract with Leali Steel Spa to be unenforceable against the latter's bankruptcy, ordering Generalfinance to pay €9.3m plus interest and costs. On July 31, 2025, the company filed an appeal seeking a full reversal of the first-instance ruling.

On the Italy Growth index, Kruso Kapital, up 1.1%, announced an update to its 2026-2028 business plan. The group expects to strengthen its position as a pan-European player in the pawn credit market, aiming to reach €206m in customer loans by the end of 2028, with a 2025-2028 CAGR of 9.9%.

Next Geosolutions, flat at €15.70 per share, completed post-lay trenching activities as part of the Bouri Gas Utilisation Project. In the BGUP, as explained by the company in a note, operations are carried out in support of installation activities led by Saipem, with contributions from Rana Subsea and collaboration on trenching activities with Pharos Offshore Group, the provider of the specialized technologies used.

Pozzi Milano, up 5.5%, announced that its board of directors approved the acquisition of 100% of IVV Italia and Forma Italia for a maximum consideration of €9.2m, including a premium.

The shareholders' meeting of Simone, which saw shares rise 0.6%, met to approve the financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2025, and adopted other significant resolutions. Specifically, the assembly renewed the board of directors for the 2026-2028 three-year period, confirming a five-member board.

In New York on Friday, the Dow closed up 0.7% at 51,202.26, while the Nasdaq rose 0.3% to 25,888.84 and the S&P 500 gained 0.5% to 7,431.46.

In Asian markets, the Hang Seng rose 0.5%, the Shanghai Composite gained 1.6%, and the Nikkei closed up 5.0%.

In the currency markets, the euro is trading at $1.1606, up from $1.1581 on Friday evening, while the pound is at $1.3428, compared to $1.3417 on Friday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is trading at $82.94 per barrel, down from $86.80 on Friday evening, while gold is valued at $4,362.62 per ounce, up from $4,213.42 at Friday's close.

Monday's macroeconomic calendar includes industrial and manufacturing production data from the U.S. at 1515 CEST.
