Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck is presenting new Phase 1b data for its drug candidate Lu AF28996 at the AD/PD 2026 research conference in Copenhagen.

The study evaluated the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and early clinical signals in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease.

"Phase 1b patient studies are a crucial step in understanding the safety profile and biological activity of new investigational drugs at an early stage of clinical development," says Johan Luthman, Head of Research and Development at Lundbeck.

"These data provide supporting evidence to further evaluate the potential of Lu AF28996 in treating individuals with advanced Parkinson's disease," he continues.

The results show that the substance was generally well-tolerated and exhibited early signals consistent with its mechanism of action. The company plans to initiate a Phase 2 study in 2026.
