Pharmaceutical company Lundbeck has appointed Markus Kede as Senior Vice President and Chief AI Officer. He will join the executive management team and report to CEO Charl van Zyl.

Kede most recently served as Head of Finance and Business Planning for Lundbeck in the US and is expected to assume his new role by July 1 at the latest.

The appointment is part of the company's strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into its operations.

"AI is not just about implementing technology. It is about changing how we think, make decisions, and execute work across our entire value chain. Markus brings the enterprise-wide perspective and proven experience required to integrate AI into our business in a responsible and value-creating way," says Lundbeck CEO Charl van Zyl.
