Leonardo Partners with Adani for Helicopter Ecosystem Development in India

(Alliance News) - Leonardo Spa and Adani Defence & Aerospace, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd active in the defense and aerospace sectors and a leading player in these fields in India, announced on Tuesday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

According to the statement released, through this agreement the two partners will develop an integrated industrial ecosystem for helicopters in India, addressing the growing demand of the national military market and supporting the country on its path to self-sufficiency in helicopter production.

"In order to meet the requirements of the Indian armed forces, particularly with advanced Leonardo helicopter models such as the AW169M and AW109 TrekkerM, the collaboration will ensure gradual localization, robust maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities, and comprehensive training services for pilots," the statement concludes.

Leonardo shares are up 1.8% at EUR56.98 per share.
