MARBELLA (dpa-AFX) - Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has now officially confirmed the fine imposed on national team footballer Karim Adeyemi. With a tongue-in-cheek remark, Kehl reported that the striker immediately accepted the penalty after his outburst during the 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach just over two weeks ago. "He didn't even try to negotiate," Kehl said at BVB's training camp in Marbella.
Kehl declined to comment on the exact amount of the fine. It is believed to be in the high five-figure range. Adeyemi was substituted early by coach Niko Kovac during the Gladbach match after a poor performance and being at serious risk of being sent off. Kehl had prevented the 23-year-old from storming off to the locker room.
Kehl: "The matter is settled"
"We had the conversation, and it went very well," Kehl said regarding the discussion, which only took place at the training camp because all parties were on vacation immediately after the Gladbach match: "The matter is settled."/lap/DP/jha
